Hi Friends, many of you have this question that "What to do differently in weekends or Occasions or Guest arrivals?"  To give solution to such question.. Here it is.. 'Tomato Dosa'. A different variety of dosa and it can be prepared in less time. Your kids too like this and ask you to do it more often. If you dont have idli batter, at that time it will help you to manage the situation. For this, you  no need to wait for fermentation to occur. Just soak for an hour then grind then use the batter within an hour to shoot dosa. Just try this.

Required Ingredients :
  1. Boiled rice - 1 cup
  2. Raw Rice - 1 cup
  3. Fenugreek seeds -1/4 tbsp
  4. Red chillies - 4
  5. Tomato - 4
  6. Urad dhal - 2 tbsp
  7. Asafoetida - 1/2 tbsp
  8. Chopped Onion - 1
  9. Curry leaves, Coriander Leaves - a little 

Procedure 


 1.  Soak the Rice and Urad dhal, Red chillies and Fenugreek seeds for an hour. 


2. In a Mixer grinder, first grind urad, red chillies and rice.





3. At last add Tomatoes, salt, asafoetida to grind



4. Grind till the dosa batter consistency occurs.





5. Now keep the batter aside for an hour. Add Curry leaves, Onion, Coriander leaves


6. Now start shooting the Dosa. Pour oil. Flip it over.



7. Tomato Dosa is Ready to Serve.



Notes:

  1.  Soaking has be done at a minimum of 1 hour
  2. Add tomatoes based on head count and at the same time increase rice and urad dhal.

Soya Chunk Manchurian







Soya chunks manchurian is a delicious manchurian gravy dish made with nutritious soya chunks. It is rich in bean protein which is very healthy food.Soya chunks manchurian a semi dry recipe with step by step pictures.Soya chunks/ soya nuggets is a great source of protein and fibre. I liked soya chunks right from the day I tasted it first time. So I always stock soya chunks and make when ever I get a chance to cook for me alone. I mostly make soya chunks munchurian which is my most favourite as well as easy dish. This one is easy to prepare too,

Ingredients

Soya Chunks (Nano Chunks)                 - 1 cup
Salt to taste 
Ginger Garlic Paste                                - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala                                        - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves                                    - a spring 
Oil                                                           - 4 tsp 
Onion Chopped                                      - 1 cup
Capsicum Diced                                     - 3/4 cup
Green Chilli sauce                                  - 2 tsp
Tomato sauce                                         - 3 tsp
Cornflour                                                 - 2 tbsp


Method

  1. These are the ingredients we have mentioned earlier.Soak Soya chunks in warm water for 15 mins.Squeeze the chunks and drain the water.

2.Now add 5 tbsp of cornflower, salt, ginger garlic paste and a 1 tsp of garam masala to the chunks.

3.Mix everything well and sprinkle little bit of water so they are well coated

4.Now, heat 2 tsp oil in a wide bottom pan

5.Add the soya chunks and saute till they turn crisp from all sides

6,Once done just remove them and transfer them to a bowl.

7.Meanwhile, for the sauce heat rest of the oil in a wok.Add onions and saute for a minute on high heat

8.Add capsicum

9.Add green chilli sauce

10. Add tomato sauce

11.Cook till the gravy thickens slightly.

12.Add soya chunks and mix well.

13.Add coriander leaves

14.Serve hot



Notes


  • Firstly, make sure to soak soya well in hot water and squeeze well.
  • Make sure to squeeze out the water from soya completely, else they might end up absorbing oil.

Egg Paniyaram/ egg receipes

Hi Friends, Today we are going to see about one of our favourite egg receipe 'Egg Paniyaram'. Not an usual egg omlet, egg podimas.. Something different.. Egg Paniyaram. It came out very well. Those who hate eggs will start loving eggs. It doesn't smell much. You can also present this as evening snacks for your kids. Try this friends.

Eggs                                  -  3
Carrot                                - 1/4 cup (grated)
Cabbage                           -1/4 cup(grated)
Ginger                               - Small piece for flavour
Onion                                - 1 medium size
Green Chillies                   - 1 finely chopped
Curry leaves (tender)        - a sprig
Coriander leaves               - 1 tbsp finely chopped
Red chilli powder               - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder                - 1/8 tsp
Salt as needed
Pepper powder                  - 1 tsp
Oil                                      - 5-6 tsp
Garam masala                   - 1tsp

  1. These are the ingredients we have mentioned earlier. 

  2. Heat oil in the pan

 3. Add Mustard seeds. Let it splitters.

4. Then add green chillies.

5.Then add chopped onions.

6.  Saute for few minutes till the onions become translucent and brown.

7. In a small mixing bowl, break in the three egg and beat it till it fluffs up little

8. Then add grated cabbage, carrot.


9. Then add chopped ginger

10.Add red chilli powder
11. Add garam masala
12. Add salt

13. Add saute onion and green chillies



13.Mix the batter properly till all the spice and egg is mixed evenly.
.
14.Heat the Paniyaram pan on a medium heat, 

15.add a teaspoon of oil into each cups.


16.Use a tablespoon to drop the dosa batter into each cups. Fill in till the brim.



17.let it cook for 5 minutes on each side and flip over. You can add oil if required while cooking.



18.Serve the  Muttai Paniyaram along with Tea Time snack.

Sweet Maida Appam

Hi Friends,  Today we are going to share our favorite easy sweet street food 'Maida Appam'. This is our Ancestors sweet dish, which can be prepared very quickly. In all our ancestors marriage occasions, we can see this Maida Appam. Now a days, it has become very rare.In my school days, Amma used to make this as evening snacks and i liked it so much back then(of course now also).Maida Appam Recipe / Sweet Maida Paniyaram is the most simplest appam recipes, as there is no elaborate work like grinding or heating jaggery.


 Ok, enough with the stories, if you're looking for easy appam recipe for this karthigai deepam, here it is, so easy and not just by the ingredients

Ingredients

Maida                     - 1 cup
Sugar                      -3/4 cup
Water                      -1/2 cup
Cardamom Powder- 3 nos
Oil-to deep fry

Procedure

1.First measure and keep all the ingredients ready.

2.In a bowl, mix together flour, cardamom powder and sugar.


3.Then pour water little by little and whisk it well without any lumps



4.Add water gradually and make a thick batter. The sugar will dissolve and the batter will thin out. If it is too thin, add little flour and mix. Sugar can be added based on your taste. Cover and set aside for 20 minutes.



5.Heat oil on medium flame


6.When hot enough, pour ladle full of batter in the middle. 


7.Let it rise before pouring for the next appam.




8.Fry until it becomes uniformly brown. Remove from oil and serve hot or at room temperature.



Notes

  • Keep the oil in medium flame while cooking the appam.
  • Adding coconut and banana enhance the softness of appam. 
  • You can also add 1tbsp of Sooji/Rava for crispness if needed.
